  19. The only reason I still use the windows telnet app is because I
  20. sometimes (and not all that infrequently) need to connect to something
  21. that's not a telnet server.  It may be an nntp or smtp server, or one
  22. of several diagnostic socket ports I've coded into my own apps.

  24. In my perusal of the Kermit documentation, however, I haven't seen the
  25. switch that'll turn off all attempts to do telnet options negotiation.
  26.  No IACs, no DOs, DONTs, WILLs, WONTs, sent or received.  Just the
  27. text, ma'am.

  31. (BTW a major reason I like Kermit-95 better than other terminal
  32. emulators and telnet apps is because I can hit Alt-Enter and get a
  33. real text-mode full screen view.  K95-GUI is likely to lose this
  34. ability.  Sigh - I guess I won't be upgrading.)
  35.
